Maia Anin

Counselling and Yoga for Women’s Wellbeing

Maia specialises in working with women’s health, trauma, grief and loss, offering a compassionate and safe environment to facilitate a collaborative therapeutic relationship in supporting empowered healing. Maia has over 20 years experience working with women across the life span with a range of psychosocial and women’s health concerns and periods of transition. She has particular experience in supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period as they navigate their transition to motherhood.

She holds a deep passion for supporting women who are navigating the heartbreaking journey of fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, birth trauma and adoption, whether recent or past.

She is an Accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers, with post graduate qualifications in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health, and Bereavement Counselling and Intervention. Maia combines this background with her training as a Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator and a qualified level 1 yoga teacher with additional training in women’s health yoga, pre and postnatal yoga, fertility/ART, pelvic floor and hormone support, restorative and yin yoga.

Her supportive and integrated approach draws on somatic therapy, trauma informed yoga and contemporary grief and trauma counselling approaches to facilitate and support personal choice and embodied healing.

Maia loves getting outdoors in the bush camping and hiking, escaping into a good book and going on adventures with her family and cheeky Cavoodle.
